Can PPG Provide Actionable Physiologic Information?
Session Description
Photoplethysmography (PPG) is being used to detect biologic parameters becuase it provides a non-invasive and inexpensive tool when coupled to a smartphone. In particular, there has been interest in using PPG for the detection of arrhythmias such as atrial fibrillation, measurement of ambulatory blood pressure, and even identification of patients with sleep apnea. In this session, we will explore whether PPG is sufficient for detection and monitoring of these conditions.
