Video Summary
The panel discussed how software-led ECG analytics and mobile telemetry are already useful in practice, but will become far more powerful as AI and digital twins mature. Current best uses for near real-time monitoring include high-risk syncope, cryptogenic stroke, post-TAVR surveillance, pediatric cases, and other situations where rapid action matters. A major theme was that the value of monitoring depends less on the device itself and more on matching the right tool to the right patient and workflow.

Several speakers emphasized that future systems should move beyond detecting arrhythmias to predicting risk, combining ECG data with imaging, lab results, and clinical context. Digital twins were presented as a vision in which continuous remote data updates a living model of the patient’s heart. The group also highlighted practical barriers: alert fatigue, staffing, reimbursement, ownership of results, and the challenge of acting on urgent alerts in real time.

Wearables were seen as both an asset and a challenge. They can capture useful data outside the clinic, but consumer devices need clearer medical-grade standards. The panel agreed that AI could help triage patients in primary care, reduce unnecessary testing, and safely automate “normal” results, provided the algorithms remain reliable and transparent.
